Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo is set to commission the Alex Ekwueme Civic Centre, Oko, in Orumba North LGA scheduled to take place this Friday, Jan 5, 2024.

Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the event, Reuben Muoka, says the commissioning will reawaken memories of the former Vice President Alex Ekwueme, whose giant statue will also be unveiled by the Anambra State Governor.

He also said that there would be an exhibition of cultural showpieces by the Oko Community including a women dance group, Nkwa Nkwa, whose origin dates back to the 19th century.

He says the five villages that make up the community have been invited in the cultural exhibition with each village expected to come with its best dance and musical groups.
