On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals, Alake expressed his sadness over the incident and  offered condolences to Oyo state governor, seyi makinde, as well as the families of the victims.

 

 

Alake assured that ministry’s mine officers who are already on site in Ibadan will join ongoing investigations to find out the immediate and remote causes of the explosion, also promising that the ministry will double its effort to tighten the noose around those acquiring explosives and storing them illegally.
