SIX-MONTH STRIKE: PTA DEMANDS FG, ASUU, PARENTS’ CONFAB
August 8, 2022.
The National Association of Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria NAPTAN has advised the federal government to convey a tripartite meeting of parents, academic staff union of universities, and government so as to resolve the on-going strike by the university teachers.
This follows the request by the federal government that parents’ associations should appeal to ASUU to call off its strike, because the government claims it did not have funds to meet the union’s demands.
NAPTAN President, Haruna Danjuma, says it is improper for the federal government to ask the association to beg ASUU saying government should rather meet ASUU’s demands.
