The South Korean government has said it would review whether there were any human rights violations involved in an immigration raid that occurred in Georgia
Reports say about 475 South Korean nationals were arrested at the construction site of an electric vehicle battery factory, in Georgia on 4th September.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials alleged that the South Koreans had overstayed their visas or held permits that didn’t allow them to perform manual labor.
However, some of the workers told local media about appalling conditions during their arrest, saying they were held without being informed of their rights.
In reaction, South Korean presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung says both the US and South Korea are checking to see if there were any violations in the raid.
