13 people have been killed in Ukraine as Russian forces launched a major overnight drone and missile attack on the capital, Kyiv.
Reports say this attack came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing for a “massive” attack.
The head of Kyiv’s military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, said Russia is once again deliberately targeting residential areas and killing civilians including children, whom he said were among the “significant number” of casualties.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence claims it targeted energy facilities in response to recent Ukrainian strikes.
