Police Nab Suspects in Car Theft, Child Abduction in Anambra

Anambra State Police Command says its operatives have recorded several breakthroughs in different parts of the state including the arrest of car-snatching suspects, a child-stealing syndicate, and the retrieval of stolen items and vehicles.

The Anambra Police Spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, gave details about the operations this Thursday, saying they took place in Achalla, Okpoko and Ihiala and that they were successful due to the enhanced strategic positioning and security patrols emplacement by the Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu.

He said in Achalla, police operatives and members of the Special Vigilante Task Force arrested two men, Chinwendu Ndieli and Uchenna Offodile who confessed to stealing a Mack Truck and an empty container from a company in Lagos.

In Okpoko, Police Operatives retrieved an abandoned vehicle along Onitsha–Owerri Road, which has now been taken to the station for identification and possible collection by the rightful owner.

In Ihiala one male suspect, Charles Onuigbo was arrested for allegedly abducting three children of ages 6, 3, and 2 years respectively.
