Commissioner of Police Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye, has said his command is ready to protect the lives and property of residents amid insecurity in some of the communities.

He spoke when he was honored by the 179 communities in Anambra State by the Association of Past Presidents General in the State (APPAS).

Aderemi said the honour was not for him alone or the police, but for the entire security structure and sister security outfits in the state.

The stakeholders said APPAS will name its proposed secretariat in Awka after a notable Anambra philanthropist, Emeka Okwuosa, in recognition of his humanitarian services.
