A Group of PDP stakeholders under the Progressive and Democratic Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has asked its members, delegates and leaders of the party to stay away from Saturday’s national Convention of the party in Ibadan.
In an announcement made at their meeting in Abuja, they said that going ahead with the convention would amount to an insult on the rule of law.
The group said that as custodians of the party’s democratic ethos, they will continue to act strictly within the confines of the law and consciously distance themselves from any posture, action, or gathering that bears the character of lawlessness.
They further said that they remain confident by respecting the rule of law, the PDP will not only prevail, but also emerge stronger, more coordinated and better positioned to fulfil its historic mission in Nigeria’s democracy.
