Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshola have emerged Africa’s male and female footballers of the year 2023.

Osimhen’s feat in Morocco ended Nigeria’s 24-year-old wait for Africa’s top individual prize.

Recall Kanu Nwankwo was the last Nigerian to win the award  in 1999.

Osimhen is the fifth Nigerian international to achieve this feat after Rashidi Yekini in 1993
