The Ondo State Police Command says it has begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of one of the ward campaign coordinators of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Alaba Abe, who was reportedly assassinated by some gunmen in Akoko South-West Area of the state on Saturday evening.

His assassination comes barely a week after the All Progressives Congress, APC held its governorship primary in the state and he was the Returning Officer at Ward 10 in the council area.

The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot Soldiers Independent Council condemned the incident and urged the security agencies in the state to investigate it and bring the perpetrators to book.
