A former president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Abiodun Ogunyemi, has accused the ruling class of systematically destroying Nigeria’s education sector.
He stated this via a television interview this Tuesday also accusing the ruling class of destroying the public primary, public secondary and now the public universities and public tertiary education in general.
Ogunyemi says the ASUU strike is on a mission to rescue the educational sector from total collapse and Nigerians should see this perspective that ASUU is bringing to the table.
Recall that ASUU had on Monday extended its ongoing strike for another 12 weeks.
A statement signed by ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, said this was to give the government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.
