THE FACTIONAL GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARY ELECTION TOOK PLACE AT THE PDP SECRETARIAT LOCATED ALONG ABAKALIKI/ENUGU EXPRESSWAY
THE ELECTORAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN FOR THE GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY ELECTION IN THAT STATE, CHRIS OKOLO, DECLARED OGBA THE WINNER, HAVING SCORED THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF VOTES OF 253, TO DEFEAT THE FOLLOWING ASPIRANTS: NWAZUNKU UGBALA WHO SCORED 1 VOTE, IGWE PAULINUS WHO SCORED 2 VOTES, AUSTIN EDEZE WHO SCORED 3 VOTES, AND CHUKWUMA NWAZUNKU WHO SCORED 6 VOTES,
OTHERS ARE SYLVESTER OGBAGA SCORED 63 VOTES, EDWIN ANAYO GOT 110 VOTES, AND FIDELIS NWANKWO GOT 44 VOTES.
14 VOTES WERE INVALID.
REACTING, OGBA COMMENDED STAKEHOLDERS OF THE PARTY AND DELEGATES FOR FINDING HIM WORTHY TO FLY THE FLAG OF THE PARTY IN EBONYI STATE AND VOWED TO RECONCILE ALL AGGRIEVED PARTY MEMBERS, ESPECIALLY HIS OPPONENTS.
IN HIS REMARK, THE EMBATTLED STATE CHAIRMAN OF PDP IN EBONYI STATE, TOCHUKWU OKORIE, COMMENDED THE ELECTORAL COMMITTEE FOR CONDUCTING A TRANSPARENT GUBERNATORIAL PRIMARY ELECTION IN THE STATE.
