The President of the Students’ Union Government at Nasarawa State University, Buhari Ibrahim, popularly known as Bombay, has been suspended indefinitely from office with immediate effect over alleged abuse of office and gross misconduct.
Reports say the decision to suspend Bombay indefinitely was made by the Legislative Arm of the Union following an emergency plenary session which took place at the Moot Court of the university’s Faculty of Law
In the letter issued to the suspended president this Tuesday, the legislature cited five offenses for his suspension which it also says was executed in accordance with the provisions of the union’s constitution.
Among the offenses listed, Buhari was accused of failing to provide proper modalities for the distribution of palliatives provided by the State Government for students which ultimately led to a fatal stampede that claimed the lives of students and left several others injured.
