The Nasarawa State Police Command says no ransom was paid for the release of the abducted chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area, Safiyanu Andaha.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, this wednesday said this to newsmen.
It will be recalled that gunmen had abducted Safiyanu Andaha and another male, Adamu Umar, on New Year’s Day at Ningo village along Andaha-Akwanga Road but they were said to have been released after a fine of 10 million naira had been paid.
The PPRO however says they regained their freedom after security operatives mounted pressure on the abductors.
