The lead counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, has demanded for “fair hearing safeguards” for his client, saying that this condition should be met before Kanu’s trial for terrorism begins.

Recall that yesterday Wednesday, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court fixed May 20, 2024, to decide Kanu’s bail.

Reports have it that during the hearing yesterday, Ejimakor told the court that the defendant was not ready for trial, and Justice Nyako then adjourned till May 20 for her stand on the matter.

Justice Nyako will also rule on Kanu’s request to transfer him from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, to house arrest.
