Members of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have marched in solidarity for the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Also included in the march were students, youths, civil society organizations, labour unions, and members of the Hausa community in the state, who all converged in front of the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital this Friday.

The coordinator of National Association of Nigerian students, NANS, Levi Okoru, who was present at the solidarity march, said the march was to express their support for Fubara and to demand that the Governor brief them on what happened in the meeting he attended in Abuja at the instant of the President.

Also, the National President of Rivers State students, Abbey Sime-Ipiri, said Governor Fubara has the support of students because he promised to pay their bursary after eight years.

Recall that Rivers has been at the centre of a power tussle between the past governor, Nyesom Wike and Fubara.
