The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says it has decided on N615,000 as the new minimum wage for workers to cope with the many economic realities and high cost of living in Nigeria.

The President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero confirmed this in a television interview on Sunday, saying that the new wage of N615,000 monthly was reached after consultations between the NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

The unions says the state governors should be able to pay every public servant because they now get more monthly revenue allocation by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
