The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has boycotted the meeting called by the federal government to avert the planned two-day warning strike by the union.

Recall that the NLC president, Joe Ajaero, has announced that the strike would commence this Tuesday.

But the minister of labour and employment, Simon Lalong, appealed to the NLC on Monday, to suspend the proposed warning strike over the impact of petrol subsidy removal on the masses.

Lalong says such a strike would be detrimental to the gains already being recorded by the new administration.
