NGO calls on Ebonyi state govt to implement judicial inquiry recommendations , Augustine Onwe

A nongovernmental organization, Youthhub Africa, has called on Ebonyi State Government to implement recommendations made by the judicial panel of inquiry, which was set up by Governor David Umahi’s administration to look into alleged human rights violations by security agencies.

The field officer, of Youthhub organization, Augustine Onwe stated this at a two-day training for youths and stakeholders, in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital.

Onwe pointed to the aftermath of the #Endsars protest in the country as the basis for the creation of a judicial panel of inquiry across States, however, he noted that the Ebonyi panel of inquiry had submitted a report which is yet to be implemented by the State Government.

Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State Emmanuel Nnaji reports that Onwe says his organization intends to create harmony between the citizens and the security agencies, “especially the police,” because some of the security agents see young people as trouble makers and enemies.
