We have news that the amendment to the Nigerian 1999 Constitution will be ready for presidential assent in August 2025.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, made this known at a press conference by the Committee on Constitution Review on Thursday in Abuja.

Kalu, who is the chairman of the committee,also said that the second draft will be out in October 2024.

The deputy speaker also called for submission of memoranda from different interest groups, Civil Society Organisations  Labour Unions, relevant institutions of government and the members of the general public to aid the committee’s work.
