Recall that on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, a devastating flash flood swept through several communities across Ivo and Ohaozara local government areas, submerging extensive tracts of farmland, destroying residential structures, and displaced dozens of households.
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, expressed gratitude to NEMA for its rapid response and intervention as he also expressed concern over the recurring natural disasters in the state.
The relief package handed over to the state government included essential food items as well as non-food materials including foam mattresses, insecticide-treated mosquito nets, and women’s clothing were also provided to assist families in temporary displacement.
