NDLEA Intercepts Businessman With 98 Wraps Of Cocaine Bound For Italy

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a businessman for allegedly ingesting 98 wraps of cocaine in Anambra State before attempting to smuggle the consignment to Italy.
The NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared details of the arrest to newsmen on Sunday saying the suspect is a 30-year-old Italy-based businessman who was arrested a week ago at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
Babafemi said the suspect arrived in Nigeria from Italy early in July and later ingested the drugs at a hotel in Awka, Anambra State, before travelling to Enugu to board his flight back to Europe.
When he was intercepted at the airport, he was placed under excretion observation, during which he expelled 98 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.510 kilogrammes.
