The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has arrested a female passenger, Fatimah Ahmad, for allegedly attempting to smuggle cannabis concealed in a gallon of palm oil to Saudi Arabia.
They say they also intercepted a consignment of tramadol powder worth more than ₦6.98 billion at the Apapa Port in Lagos.
The NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared the details on Sunday, saying the arrests and seizures were made in a series of anti-drug operations conducted across several states.
The female passenger, Ahmad, told officers that her cousin, Abubakar Yahaya, had given her the gallon. Yahaya was subsequently arrested at the airport car park.
