The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF has accused maritime police of illegal operation, arrest, and detention of containers in and around Lagos Ports.
The National Coordinator, 100% Compliance Team of NAGAFF, Ibrahim Tanko, says they have written to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, threatening that if nothing urgent is done, they will shut down the ports.
The aggrieved freight forwarders say the maritime officers do not only block the release of containers from shipping companies, but also arrest and detain containers on the road.
