Rwandan President, Paul Kagame, has said that he plans to run for a fourth term in office during the elections due to be held next year.

Kagame made this known during an interview saying he is not concerned with what the West might think oh his decision to run for 4th term.

Kagame who was a former rebel chief became president in April 2000 and returned to office with more than 90 percent of the votes in the 2003, 2010 and 2017 elections.

Reports say in 2015, Kagame presided over controversial constitutional amendments that allowed him to run for more terms and stay in power until 2034.
