The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency KADSEMA, Usman Mazadu, has said the agency has contained a compressed gas tanker leak in Kaduna South.

Mazadu said to newsmen this Monday, in Kaduna that the agency responded jointly with the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Agency after receiving a distress call.

He said emergency responders secured the scene, while cooling operations were ongoing to stabilize the tanker and prevent any escalation and advised motorists, pedestrians to avoid the Nnamdi Azikiwe By-Pass near Unguwan Mu’azu until emergency officials declared the area safe.

Mazadu further said traffic had been diverted to alternative routes to facilitate emergency operations and protect road users while commending residents for their cooperation and urged them to comply with the directives of emergency personnel until the operation was concluded.
