The supreme court sitting in abuja this friday, has resolved the ownership dispute of 17 oil wells between imo and rivers state.

in a landmark judgment prepared by justice helen ogun-wumiju but delivered by justice emmanuel agim, the apex court ruled in favor of river’s state.

the court also dismissed the counterclaim ownership put forward by the imo state government.

the oil wells are located in akri and mgbede communities where their boundaries are being disputed by the rivers and imo state governments.
