Imo Police Debunk Report Of Herdsmen Burning Hostel In Nekede

The Imo State Police Command has dismissed a viral social media report alleging that suspected herdsmen set a student hostel ablaze in Nekede, Owerri, trapping more than 80 students inside.
The Imo Police PRO, Henry Okoye, described the report as misleading and capable of causing unnecessary panic among residents.
Okoye said no such incident occurred in Nekede. He urged the public to disregard the report, warning against the spread of unverified information capable of inciting fear, panic and public disorder.
The command advised residents to verify the authenticity of information through credible and official sources before sharing it on social media or other platforms.
