The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Imo state has declared that it will embark on strike and street protests in Owerri, the state capital, on November 1st, 2023 to demonstrate their outrage over the continuing violation of the rights and privileges of workers in the state.

The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, announced this on Sunday in Abuja, saying that the union has been left with no choice but to embark on an industrial action accusing the State Government of repeatedly reneging on previous agreements as regards payments of workers’ salaries.

Meanwhile, the National Industrial Court in Owerri has issued an extended interim injunction restraining organized Labour from embarking on any kind of strike in Imo state.
