Gunmen Open Fire Near Ataoja’s Palace During Adeleke’s Visit
Gunmen suspected to be political thugs reportedly opened fire very close to the palace of the monarch of Osogbo, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, during the visit of the re-elected Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

The governor had visited the Ataoja’s palace after receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osogbo, which he also presented to the monarch.

However, reports say shortly after the visit, there was an exchange of gunfire between some hoodlums, who came in a space bus, and the governor’s security aides for about 12 to 15 minutes.

Also, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, who confirmed the incident said the assailants might have been rival cultist groups engaging each other.
