Political parties in Imo State have urged eligible voters in the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and to participate actively in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
They made the call following the report by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that there were 134,000 uncollected PVCs in the state.
The state Publicity Secretary of Action Alliance (AA), Salvator Amadi, lamented, saying, PVC’s was uncollected because some INEC officials extort money from people before releasing the cards.
Nonetheless, political parties in the state have vowed to resist any plans to rig the election, asking the electorate to be vigilant and protective of their votes after casting them on Election Day.
