Traders at the Eke-Ukwu market in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, who were affected by the fire outbreak of last month have said they received the sum of Ten million naira from the Member representing Afikpo North and South in the Federal House of Representative at the National Assembly, Iduma Igariwey.

The Traders stated this through their Chairman, Johnson Inya-Oko while speaking with Blaze FM Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji.

Johnson, while commending Igariwey, said the financial assistance is not meant for compensation but to help cushion the effect of the fire accident as the number of goods damaged during the fire accident were worth more than 10 million naira.

Our Correspondent, Nnaji, also reports that Johnson said thirty-six shops and numerous attachments were affected but the 10 million naira will be shared among legal occupants who own shops in Eke-Ukwu.
