 A shopping mall at Ligali Ayorinde junction, Victoria Island, Lagos was gutted by fire early this morning

In a trending video clip on social media, firefighters were seen trying to put out the fire.

The Lagos coordinator, national emergency management agency, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the incident. He says the fire incident took place at a shopping centre but had been put out, through combined efforts by the federal and Lagos state fire services.

On the possible cause for the incident, Farinloye says an investigation was ongoing and the report would be made available upon completion.
