No fewer than 10 shops were completely destroyed by fire at the Iya Maryam Adebara Complex in the Ogunpa Market area of Ibadan on Monday night.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande, disclosed this this Tuesday, saying the agency’s personnel received a distress call about the fire incident on Monday evening.
Akinwande said that firemen were promptly deployed to the scene and, upon arrival, found 10 shops out of several, already engulfed in flames.
He attributed the fire to a generator being fueled by one of the shop’s occupants, adding that no casualties were recorded, while commending the police personnel from Iyaganku Police Headquarters for providing security.
