FIFA Orders NFF to Pay Former coach, Rohr N157m
August 2, 2022
The Federation of International Football (FIFA) has ordered the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay former Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, his compensation of $378,000 (about N157million) following the early termination of his contract.
Recall that Rohr’s appointment was terminated by the NFF in December 2021, following the poor performance of the Super Eagles during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, although, he was able to qualify Nigeria for both the World Cup and AFCON in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Reports say, the initial agreement between the NFF and Rohr was to pay his salary until the end of his contract, which would expire in December 2022.
Hence, following his termination, the former Super Eagles coach reported a breach of contract by the Nigerian football body to FIFA.
Rohr has now been granted $377,879.46 and the ruling by FIFA added that the NFF will be sanctioned if Rohr is not paid in full within 45 days.
