The Federal Government will reportedly be meeting with the leadership of the Nigerian labor Congress, NLC this Monday, September 18, 2023 to resolve issues over the looming industrial action.
The Director of Information at the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Olajide Oshundun, said this on Sunday saying his principal, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, has directed the Department of Trade Union Services and Industrial Relations to convene a meeting with the leadership of the NLC.
He says it is important that the unions sit with the government to resolve all pending matters to advert for the disruption to the economy.
Recall that the NLC threatened to embark on an indefinite strike, 14 or 21 days after it’s two-day warning strike earlier this month, if the government fails to address the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.
