Prominent Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has insisted that the Rivers State House of Assembly members who decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) have lost their positions in the lawmaking body.
Falana said this on Sunday in a television interview saying that the Supreme Court has made it clear that one cannot decamp and then remain a member of a legislative house in Nigeria unless it can be proven that there is division in the party.
He said this following the recent crisis in the Rivers Assembly where the lawmakers said to be loyal to the Rivers state Governor Siminalayi Fubara, elected another speaker, Victor Oko-Jumbo, and the executive order given by Fubara to relocate the assembly sitting.
