Kano Government Files Charges Against Ganduje Over ₦240m Diversion

The Kano Government has filed fresh charges against a former governor of that state and the current APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, as well as a former Commissioner for Justice, Musa Lawan.

In the charge filed this Tuesday, the state government accused Ganduje and Lawan of conspiring to misappropriate, divert, and convert ₦240m for personal use.

The state government also says that the prosecution plans to present four witnesses to testify against the defendants.

It alleged that Ganduje leveraged his position as the governor and conspired with Lawan, who initiated a memo requesting the release of the funds for civil litigation, involving Kano State staff allegedly abused by the EFCC.

The court has yet to set a date for the commencement of the trial.
