A former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Information, Chijoke Edeoga, on Thursday, emerged winner of the governorship primary election of the Labour Party in Enugu State.

Edeoga, who was the sole aspirant in the primary held in Enugu, emerged winner with 81 votes.

The party’s Deputy National Secretary and the Chairman, Enugu State Governorship Electoral Committee, Kennedy Ahanudu, who declared the result of the primary, said Edeoga scored the highest number of votes cast during the election.

The primary election was sequel to the withdrawal of the former governorship candidate of the party,  Casmir Agbo, from the race.
