The Justice of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Hamza Muazu has ordered that the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, be remanded in Kuje prison.
Muazu says Emefiele will remain in prison until November 22, when the court will deliver a ruling on his bail motion.
Emefiele’s lead counsel, Mathew Burkaa, moved an application for bail in court, which the Federal Government’s legal representative, Rotimi Oyedepo vehemently opposed.
After taking arguments for and against the application, Justice Muazu said he needed a little time to study the exhibits supplied by Emefiele to support his request for bail, and adjourned the case till November 22.
