The management of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) says its attention has been drawn to a publication which has been trending across the social media, loaded with false and unfounded information, aimed at smearing the reputation of EEDC
In reaction to the claims, the EEDC says it has never engaged in unprofessional conduct as far as billing customers for electricity is concerned, saying customers are billed based on services rendered, in line with the approved billing methodology.
EEDC also says the extended outages witnessed in some areas are due to a rise in vandalism of EEDC infrastructure, which depletes its resources, and leads to costly replacements.
It called on communities and customers to channel legitimate complaints to the EEDC or the NERC, it’s regulatory body, while promising to continue to uphold the best operational standards.
