The Edo State Government has assured residents that the state police command has commenced an investigation into the abduction of a woman at the Vegetable Market in Benin, promising that those behind the abduction will be brought to justice.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Patrick Ebojele, said this on Wednesday, also saying that the police acted immediately after the governor directed security agencies to ensure the perpetrators were apprehended.
He assured that the incident was receiving urgent attention, with security operatives working tirelessly to track down those responsible.
Ebojele also cautioned social media users and online platforms against sensationalising security-related incidents, warning that exaggerated reports could create unnecessary panic and affect ongoing security operations.
