The candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC for the upcoming governorship election in Edo State, Derek Izedonwen, has promised to embrace and continue with the legacy of a former Governor of the state, Ambrose Alli, if he wins.
Izedonmwen said this on Wednesday when he was presented with his certificate of return and the ADC flag in Abuja, saying that young progressives like him would always regard Alli as a mentor and political role model because his government was the last people’s government they had in the state.
Recall that the late Ambrose Alli was the executive governor of Edo and Delta States when they were called Bendel state, from between 1979 and 1983, and was the first civilian governor was credited with establishing over 600 new secondary schools, abolishing secondary school tuitions and building four teachers’ training colleges to supply staff to the new schools.
