Ebonyi State Govt Sack Contractors, Call for New Ones

Ebonyi State Government has sacked contractors handling waste evacuation and general environmental cleanliness within Abakaliki Capital City in Ebonyi State.
The Commissioner for Environment, Richard Nnabu, stated this saying Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi ordered the sack of all the contractors involved in the exercise, with effect from 31st of August 2022, following a general laxity on the part of the contractors.
He also said the Ebonyi State Ministry of Environment, is calling on members of the public interested in handling environmental sanitation and waste evacuation within Abakaliki Capital City to apply in writing to the office of the Commissioner.
Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji, reports that Nnabu also said those to be engaged in the exercise should be able to demonstrate their competence and commitment to duties within 7 days otherwise risk being disengaged as well.
