Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a three-man syndicate within the Abakaliki metropolis, that specializes in robbing Shopping Malls, Super Markets, Point Of Service Operators, and bank customers after withdrawing cash.

The Police Spokesperson in Ebonyi State, Chris Anyanwu stated this saying the syndicate operates on power bikes, armed with pistols, also saying that they usually enter their targeted Shop in the guise of buying stuff while their rider gang mate lurks around the premises to dispossess customers of their valuables at gunpoint.

He said luck ran out for them when they robbed a fashion shop at No.19 udemezue street Abakaliki and they were captured on a Closed Circuit Television camera (CCTV).

Anyanwu said on a tip-off, that the syndicate operators were intercepted and arrested by the Crack Team of Ebonyi State Police Command. Saying that pistols and the power bike were recovered from them

Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji, gathered that Anyanwu said police in that State has started a man-hunt on the third suspect who got wind of the arrest of his cohorts and took to his heels on the day of the operation.
