Ebonyi State Government has expressed displeasure over the poor environmental condition of the State’s capital city and its environs.

Chief Press Secretary to Ebonyi State Governor Monday Uzor says the poor environmental condition has constituted health hazards to the residents of that state and will no longer be tolerated.

He says the Governor of Ebonyi State Francis Nwifuru has directed the State Commissioner for Environment to immediately ensure that all refuse dumps are evacuated by this Thursday and failure to comply strictly with the directive will attract severe sanctions.

Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji, reports that Uzor said Nwifuru tasked residents of the State to cooperate with the government and ensure strict compliance with environmental sanitation measures already in place.
