Dubai International Airport has advised passengers not to turn up at its premises due to areas being inundated by water following record rainfall, the largest in the United Arab Emirates, in 75 years.
Reports say about 300 flights to and from the airport were cancelled on Wednesday, and hundreds more were delayed due to the heavy rains and resulting deadly flash floods which has so far killed about 19 persons.
Authorities have also warned that more thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are on the way.
