The Police Command in Delta has arrested a member of a three-man robbery syndicate and recovered firearms from him in the state.

The command’s Spokesman, SP Bright Edafe disclosed this on Wednesday in Warri.

Edafe said the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday by the operatives of the Ebrumede Police Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

He said that the police team was conducting an intensive stop-and-search operation on Garki-Uti Road, Effurun, when it intercepted three suspected armed robbers.

Edafe said that two of the suspects escaped on a motorcycle during interrogation, adding that the police had launched a coordinated manhunt to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

He said that the arrested suspect was currently in police custody, while efforts were on course to arrest other members of the criminal gang.
