C’River LP Chair, Osim Rejects Suspension

C’River LP chair, Osim rejects suspension

The chairman of the Cross River state chapter of the Labour Party, Ogar Osim, has denied that he has been suspended by the party and described the report as untrue, null and void.

The Chairman and the Secretary of the State disciplinary committee, Bonnie Adie and Ibiang Igri, had told newsmen that Osim was suspended alongside Felix Etim, the party’s Secretary over alleged anti-party issues and embezzlement while Eugene Obia and Allen Ekpe have been appointed as acting Chairman and Secretary, respectively.

Osim however says the disciplinary committee of the party can only be set up by the legal officer of the party and must constitute members of the party, which is not the case as the supposed disciplinary committee was instead put together by a former women leader and not the party.

He has also questioned the identity and authority of the disciplinary committee and says he remains the chairman of LP in Cross River State as his suspension can only come from the National Secretariat of the party.
