Cabinet ministers have rallied behind United Kingdom Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, after Scottish Labour leader, Anas Sarwar, called for him to resign.
The call comes amid criticism over Starmer’s appointment of Peter Mandelson as UK ambassador to the United States and recent staff resignations at Downing Street.
Starmer addressed Labour Members of Parliament, insisting that he would not step down, while receiving a standing ovation from his party colleagues.
Despite support from ministers, opposition leaders say the prime minister has lost control, and questions over his leadership continue.
